As a Part-Time Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in preparing patients for surgery and assisting our skilled surgeons during procedures. Your ability to deliver compassionate care and effective communication will greatly enhance the patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for Mohs surgeries by collecting medical histories and taking vital signs.
  • Assist the surgeon in the operating room by ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are ready and sterile.
  • Provide post-operative care and instructions to patients, ensuring they understand aftercare procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment, following strict safety protocols.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as managing patient records and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Educate patients about the Mohs surgical process and address any concerns they may have.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a medical assistant role, especially in a surgical or dermatology setting.
  • Familiarity with surgical instruments and understanding of aseptic techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure excellent patient interactions.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
