JOB LOCATION: Endocrine Engagement Center - 4825 Creekstone Drive, Durham, NC JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Endocrine Engagement Center clinic located in Durham, NC. The Medical Assistant, Certified, performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System remote practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly. The Triage Nurse position is based in Durham, NC at a non-clinical office site. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounter, follow protocols and escalation plans established by clinic leadership Manage telephone calls and in basket messages within scope. Forms management Participates in performance improvement projects. Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
