Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) has immediate job opportunities for Registered Nurses (RN), previous psychiatric experience is not required. Positions are available for evening shifts which include working every other weekend. This position is at Central New York Psychiatric Center's Sing Sing satellite unit on the grounds of Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Westchester County.
Nurses at CNYPC are vital members of a multi-disciplinary treatment team focused on providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness including:
- Coordinating and providing nursing care
- Conducting nursing assessments
- Preparing, implementing, and modifying nursing care plans
- Providing health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals and families
- Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
- Observing and recording individuals symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health
About CNYPC:
CNYPC provides a full range of care and treatment to individuals incarcerated in the state and county correctional systems at their secure forensic inpatient hospital in Marcy, NY and at a network of corrections based mental health units for incarcerated individuals in the custody of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) in Cayuga, Clinton, Chemung, Dutchess, Erie, Oneida, Orleans, Seneca, Westchester, and Wyoming counties. All of CNYPC’s locations are within close proximity to major urban centers - New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, and Toronto and offer a wide variety of recreational activities for the outdoor enthusiast.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric
NYS License and current registration to practice as a professional nurse.
