Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) has immediate job opportunities for Nurse Supervisors to serve as Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility mental health satellite unit in Westchester County. Shift schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with Saturday and Sunday as pass days.
As Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned nursing and direct care staff, including:
- Directing and reviewing the work of nursing staff
- Preparing and monitoring staffing schedules
- Reviewing patient records for compliance and developing plans for corrective action as needed
- Teaching appropriate nursing techniques
- Preparing clinical and administrative reports
- Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements
- Attending and participating in Nursing Leadership meetings
- Maintaining and monitoring infection control standards
About CNYPC:
CNYPC provides a full range of care and treatment to individuals incarcerated in the state and county correctional systems at their secure forensic inpatient hospital in Marcy, NY and at a network of corrections based mental health units for incarcerated individuals in the custody of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) in Cayuga, Clinton, Chemung, Dutchess, Erie, Oneida, Orleans, Seneca, Westchester, and Wyoming counties.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric:
- Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; AND
- Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorders.
Substitutions:
- A master’s degree in nursing can substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
- A doctorate in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
