POSITION SUMMARY: The Hospital Operations Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes operational accountability for a specified shift. On a 24/7 basis, this individual shall have primary responsibility for human resource management, operational management, in the absence of the unit manager, as well as acting on behalf of the Hospital President in the absence of the Executive Staff and Department Directors and Managers. Description A nursing student, who has completed the first clinical year, inclusive of medical surgical nursing, within a baccalaureate nursing program and has a fundamental knowledge of the art and science of nursing, can function in this role. This experience assists the student nurse in expanding previously learned theory and skills through supervised patient care within a work setting. *ST41 is a short-term position. Responsibilities Performs and records patients vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations and pain rating. Documents clinical data as assigned, in a computer or manual system. Performs clinical procedures, such as specimen collection, venipuncture, EKG, application of sequential compression sleeves, post-mortem care, falls prevention, maintenance of skin integrity and capillary blood glucose monitoring. Sets up for selected procedures and assists RNs accordingly. Assists patient with activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing and/or toileting. Orients patients to Specialty Service environment. Assists patient with ambulation and all levels of mobilization. Assists with dietary functions, including delivering and collecting patient trays at bedside, passing menus to patients and assisting them with menu completion, mixing nutritional supplements, reporting variation in eating patterns to RN/Dietitian, Maintaining accurate and timely systems for transmission of patient dietary orders and changes. Assists in pre- and post-operative procedures, such as patient transport, completion of pre-op checklist and reception of patient from PACU/OR. Utilizes measures to insure patient safety and promotes a restraint free environment. Maintains use of restraints for patients under the direction of a RN and according to set policies and procedures. Assists in emergency resuscitative procedures as directed by the registered professional nurse. Provides care on the deceased as well as the involved family/significant other. Pertinent observations/specific treatments of procedures administered Patient care delivered on appropriate flow sheets. Assists the professional registered nurse in the collaborative plan for patient education participating in patient/teaching activities. Maintains a safe, clean and functional environment, including ensuring for the comfortable movement of the patient. Assists the patient in room maintenance, such as bed-stripping and trash removed, when necessary. Performs One-to-One and other levels of close observation of patients as ordered, e.g., for safety, elopement, or suicide prevention. Performs correct infection control techniques and maintains isolation status for patients under direction of a RN and according to set procedures. Operates the pneumatic tube system when required. POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for full-time Case Managers to work within a domestic violence residential & legal program. This program focuses of providing legal and job training programs for domestic violence victims, residential and vocational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Case Manager is responsible for direct service provision to residents. Direct services include individual counseling, group counseling, advocacy services, referrals and follow-up, home management and budget counseling. REQUIREMENTS Conduct intake interviews, as assigned, to assess and evaluate residents for admission. Engage residents in initial and ongoing treatment processes, through individual and group counseling, under clinical supervision of the Superior of Clinical Service or Program Director. Develop and maintain housing referral resources, assist residents in the process of locating and securing permanent housing, in conjunction with Housing Specialist. Assess residents’ vocational and educational needs, aptitudes and interests through interviews and testing. Develop and maintain placement and follow-up as appropriate after assessment and counseling. Develop and maintain liaison activities with H.R.A. Public Assistance and Medicaid Administrators and Workers, to assist eligible residents in securing Public Assistance and Medicaid by acting as a personal advocate through telephone or personal visit/contact. Develop with the resident, a contract of mutually agreed goals and objectives to be accomplished within an agreed upon timetable. Facilitate psycho educational groups. QUALIFIFCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in health/human services, sociology, psychology or social work. 2 years of relevant training and experience, including working with victims of domestic violence. Must be knowledgeable and sensitive towards domestic violence issues. Residential experience preferred.
