Danielle graduated with her BSN from the University of Virginia and went on to pursue her nurse residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the cardiothoracic surgical ICU. She gained her CNIII and became a nurse preceptor and mentor for new graduates to the ICU setting while continuing her work in research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and quality-improvement (QI) projects.
Through the COVID-19 pandemic, Danielle continued her work addressing health-system data while also tending to the sickest patients in adult ICUs across Los Angeles. During this time, she gained experience in the post anesthesia care unit and the emergency department due to crisis staffing and the high acuity of patients. Developing a passion for nursing mental health, work retention, and burnout, she worked on multiple projects addressing the needs of nurses during and after the pandemic. These are topics still close to her heart.
Ultimately, Danielle pivoted to working with infants in the neonatal intensive care unit, while continuing on in adult critical care on a per-diem basis. She has experience in the acute care, post-acute care, home health, and private concierge nursing settings in full time, part time, and per diem positions across Los Angeles and in international settings. She prides herself on her ability to specialize in multiple settings and patient populations, and believes learning new things and being flexible in the work setting are the keys to career happiness.
Danielle enjoys guiding and educating nurses through the early stages of their careers, helping facilities to develop best practices, and ensuring that the healthcare system delivers the care that patients deserve. In her free time, she likes traveling, spending time with family, hiking, and playing music.
