Job Purpose:

To supervise daily nursing functions within an assigned area and provide direct care to residents as prescribed by physicians — in line with facility policies and professional nursing standards. This role includes Charge Nurse responsibilities and reports to Nursing Management.


Key Responsibilities:

‍ Unit Supervision:

  • Supervise and support nursing staff in daily care delivery

  • Assign tasks, coach team members, and evaluate performance

  • Help with staff orientation, scheduling, and performance feedback

Resident Care:

  • Monitor and assess residents’ physical and emotional well-being

  • Review medical records and care plans

  • Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers

  • Communicate with families and interdisciplinary team

Medications & Documentation:

  • Administer medications per physician orders and facility policy

  • Maintain accurate and timely charting and records

Care Planning & Safety:

  • Contribute to care plan development and execution

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, fire, and safety protocols

  • Maintain a clean and safe nursing environment

Staff Development & Compliance:

  • Attend and assist with in-service training and orientation

  • Follow HIPAA regulations and uphold resident rights


Requirements:

  • Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Texas

  • CPR Certification

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Ability to perform physical tasks (walking, lifting, bending, etc.)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Charge Nurse or supervisory experience is a plus!
