Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Who We Are:

Elliot Hospital’s Women's and Children's Services are dedicated to addressing the specific health and wellness needs of women and their children. Options for Labor and Delivery include nitrous oxide, epidural anesthesia, surgical safety compliant with World Health Organization guidelines for cesarean births and more.  On average, there are 150-180 deliveries per month, 10 beds with 2 ORs and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3.

About the Job:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery participates in high and low risk intrapartum and antepartum women as well as receive women in transfer for high-risk complications of pregnancy.

  • Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
  • Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
  • Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.

Who You Are:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN – BSN preferred)
  • Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
  • Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment – ACLS preferred
