Description:
An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in this role functions with flexibility by traveling to different sites to fill temporary staffing gaps as needed. They provide patient care across multiple locations when coverage is required, ensuring continuity and access to care. When there are no active coverage needs, the APP is assigned to UMC Urgent Care at KingsPark as a home clinic, where they maintain a consistent patient panel and support daily operations. This hybrid model combines adaptability with stability, allowing the provider to respond to system-wide demands while still contributing to a core clinical team.

• Basic Life Support certification

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Environmental Conditions:
Works in well-lit, ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate needs in the department. Exposure of blood-borne pathogens is of high risk.

Physical Requirements:
Work is of medium demand. Standing, walking most of the time on duty. Lifting and pushing patients, carts, and wheelchairs. Adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills required. Good tactile sensation is necessary for checking patients. Talking and hearing is essential in instructing and supervising nursing personnel and in receiving doctors’ orders and patient’s condition reports. Near visual acuity for accurate recording of patients’ charts.

We are looking for a motivated, self-directed advanced practice provider (APP) who is committed to patient care excellence within a collaborative and compassionate environment that promotes teaching and learning for both patients and team members. Each patient’s plan of care is initiated by the APP and supported by registered nurses and support staff. The leadership team is comprised of a medical director (who is also the APP collaborative physician), nursing director, and clinic manager. Clinic support staff is comprised of medical assistants and patient service specialists. The Hi-RiSE clinic shares a unique relationship with the Vanderbilt Preoperative Evaluation Clinic (VPEC) and team members are cross trained to work within both clinic systems. Various interventions and resources are utilized for patient care including laboratory testing, imaging, prescription of medications, collaboration with primary care provider, and medical specialty clinic referrals and testing.
