Correctly collects and accurately labels specimens. Documents and maintains accurate OR nursing records including: intraoperative care, patient’s condition, medications, treatment, responses and assessment of changes, etc. Identifies, labels, and dispenses medications and solutions safely. Assists anesthesia as requested by anesthesia personnel. Demonstrates ability to assist in ACLS interventions. Maintains surgeons’ preference books Become proficient in scrubbing and circulating duties for all specialties. Fill in other duties as needed to meet OR staffing such as housekeeping and workroom duties. Cover call shifts as assigned with a 15 minute response time. Assist in the orientation of new staff/students Assist in the maintenance of a clean, dust-free environment. Coordinate or assist in the coordination of specialty supplies. Functions as a patient advocate between patient, physician, other healthcare providers, administration, etc., as needed, and interacts professionally with patient and family members. Position Requirements: EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Nursing required (Bachelor's preferred). EXPERIENCE: 1 year in surgical nursing experience preferred.
