Assists with care such as position, lifting, and transferring patients with proper body mechanisms and ambulating patients as directed by the assigned nurse.
Transports patients as needed, such as to radiology, surgery, or another nursing unit.
Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment by leaving patient rooms in order, by reporting equipment that is out of order, and by cleaning equipment as needed.
Answers telephone, call system, and greets visitors professionally, and routes information received to the appropriate personnel.
Contributes it the development of peers, colleague, and others by sharing knowledge and skills, and by providing constructive feedback regarding their practice.

Description The Child, Adolescent and Eating Disorders Psychiatry Inpatient Unit is seeking a Nursing Assistant I (Per Diem) to join their department. Position Offering: Shift: Day & Night Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays Hours: Per Diem; Minimum of 12 hours every two weeks Entity: UNC Medical Center Location: Chapel Hill, NC The Child, Adolescent and Eating Disorders Psychiatry Unit is a 28-bed unit comprised of three different focus areas to include 14 Adolescent, 8 Child and 6 Eating Disorders patient beds. Safety is the key component of the care provided as well as introduction of positive coping skills, healthy living and positive leisure activities. This is a Per Diem/ at-will position requiring the ability to generally work a minimum of 12 hours every 2 weeks; Day & Night Rotating shifts, general hours are 7am-7:30pm & 7pm-7:30am, with weekend and holiday rotation. This position requires the ability to attend a required weeklong hospital orientation offered every two weeks.
