JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Summary of the Job:
Serves as an integral part of the post-acute care strategy to effectively reduce hospital admissions/readmissions. Provide medical assistance to physicians, nurses and patients in a professional manner. The medical assistant shall perform duties assigned by the nurse and physician that facilitate appropriate patient care and clinical area functions.  

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma and accredited Medical Assistant program diploma, or higher. Strong medical terminology skills; two years M.A. experience in a clinical setting and BLS certification through the American Heart Association, is required.

Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health.  Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.  Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.  Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required:         Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing

Frequently (34%-66%) - reaching

Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching
