Surgical Technologist

Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Delivery Room at our Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN. We’re offering a $4500 sign-on bonus and a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000! This is a benefits-eligible role. As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room. Schedule : This is a 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks), benefits-eligible opening on the night shift, 12 hour shifts 6:30PM to 7AM, and every third weekend. About our OR at Ridges: Our 150-bed community-based hospital currently has 11 OR Rooms, averaging over 7,500 cases a year. Our OR specializes in areas including: Spine, Ortho, OB-GYN, General, ENT, Plastic, Urology, and Da Vinci. Our call response time is 30 minutes and it is a weekend Increased flexibility! Limited Call schedule (1 out of 6 weekends) Performs the functions of a surgical technologist as a scrub person during surgical procedures providing patient care services appropriate to the age of the patients (ages pediatric through geriatric) served during the shift of duty in collaboration with the RN. Is responsible for adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN. Responsibilities Serves as scrub person during operative procedures Anticipates surgeon’s needs Supplies appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items. Maintains aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. Assures proper identification and handling of specimens. Completes all required sponge, sharps, and instrument counts.
