POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of your job position is to provide each resident with routine daily nursing care in accordance with the residents assessment plan, with current federal, state and local standards and regulations that govern the facility, and as directed by your supervisors. Job Summary and Qualifications The Cardiac Rehabilitation Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in the outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program to Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation patients in accordance with physician orders and the multi-disciplinary plan of care. He/she uses nursing process, including but not limited to assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and re-evaluation to deliver and document patient care. Based on the diagnosis and co-morbidities, referral orders, the physician history and physical and cardiac stress test and the nursing assessment, he/she develops the exercise prescription and reviews it regularly with the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Medical Director. He/she provides a progressive graded exercise program with telemetry monitoring. He/she monitors the patient telemetry and vital signs during all activity and responds appropriately to any event. He/she provides daily documentation of exercise and education and monthly progress reports to the referring MD and a discharge report. He/she provides patient education on exercise and activity, nutrition and diet, stress management. He/she consults with the registered dietician, physical therapist and social worker as needed What qualifications you will need: AA degree in Nursing Required B.A. / B.S. preferred Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Current California license as a Registered Nurse 1 Year experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation. ICU, Cath Lab or Emergency Department experience will be acceptable Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, follow instructions and maintain a high level of professional conduct.
