Description Job Summary The Adolescent Medicine Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive, developmentally appropriate primary and specialty care to adolescents. The APRN practices in collaboration with Adolescent Medicine physicians and an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient and family centered care across outpatient and inpatient/consultative settings. Responsibilities include completing history and physical examination; ordering and interpreting radiological and laboratory test results; prescribing medications, documenting patient care services within the EMR and departmental records; and performing procedures within scope of practice and demonstrated through competency. The APRN will report to the Section Chief. Job Specific Duties Performs comprehensive health assessments, including medical, psychosocial, behavioral, sexual, and reproductive health evaluations on adolescent patients. Diagnoses and manages common adolescent health conditions, including but not limited to- menstrual disorders, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STI), eating disorders, and mood and anxiety disorders. Ensures plan of care is of sufficient breadth and depth to guide the interdisciplinary team in achieving the desired health outcomes for patients and families.
