Registered Nurse - Telemetry Med Surg

Job Title: Registered Nurse Department : Telemetry Med-Surg Location : Unity Hospital Hours Per Week : Full Time - 40 hours Schedule : Nights; 8 or 12-hour shifts; every other weekend and holiday. Telemetry Med-Surg – 2600 2600 is a stroke certified, telemetry medical surgical unit. This is a 27 bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment. We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients, and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work. Prior to training and serving in the virtual nurse role, we require 6 months of experience working on the unit. RESPONSIBILITIES : Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient). Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family. Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals.
