As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) you are responsible for providing exceptional nursing care in accordance with our policies and procedures. You will have all of the training, support, tools & equipment you need to provide the highest degree of quality care. Our team of nursing care professionals & mentors will be by your side every day, including a Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nursing, and Administrator.

 

As a CMA, you will work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to:

  • Pass Medication

  • Perform routine tasks in patient care

  • Assist residents in activities of daily living

  • Document and chart your care for each resident

  • Provide care and compassion to foster the resident's physical and emotional well-being

  • Follow infection control procedures

  • Protect your residents’ rights

  • Adhere to our policies and standards

To qualify for the position, you will need:

  • Certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) - Kansas

Job Description Rate: $17.50-$18.00Hourly Responsible for the safe administration of medications ensuring the 6 rights of medication administration are followed. Count and document all narcotics that are administered to residents. Responsible for the total inventory of medications at the community; including but not limited to ordering medications, receiving and verifying medications, storing and dating medications, removing expired or discontinued medications, and notifying the proper parties when medication supply is low. Notice discrepancies regarding medication inventory and report to the appropriate parties. Responsible for daily cleaning of all medicine carts at end of shift and restocking as needed. Responsible for weekly deep cleaning of all med carts. Responsible for verifying all current MARs are compared to new MARs at change over time. Provide personal care to residents to residents as needed, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and eating. Provide general nursing care to include, but not limited to, vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, and weights. Document appropriate information in the daily log as required. Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications. Follows re-fill process for medications. Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates. Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
