Student Nurse Internship
Position Summary:

Under the supervision of an RN, assists and supports the nursing staff by performing basic nursing care to patients. Assists and maintains a safe and clean environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respect patient rights.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to Charge Nurse.
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care (nutrition, elimination, hygiene, mobility, safety).
  • Assists with or performs basic nursing procedures (e.g. follow-up, IV’s, saline locks, sterile & unsterile drips, NG’s, wound care, trach care, vitals, glucometers, colostomy care).

Required:

  • Must have completed two semesters of clinical rotations in an accredited program.
  • Completes SNT orientation check-off with Preceptor, once completed can perform duties independently with preceptor co-signing.
  • BLS certification at hire.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience as nurse aide
