Scope of Work

The Infusion Clinical Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family center care principles. Under the direct supervision of the Nursing leader and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to access and implement the treatment plan for patients. The RN assesses monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.

Qualifications

Required Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or equivalent.
Required Bachelor's Degree B.S.N., or M.S.N., or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years required. This is effective April 18, 2023.

This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals. Our Dementia Care floor is a 60 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. The dementia care is where we create a fullness of life through the joy of relationships, the art of caring and the spirit of living. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident’s plan of care. About the Facility Beaumont Commons – Farmington Hills Our facility has 3 floors and 9 unit (3 units per floor), we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 59 beds with a focus on sub-acute rehab, the second floor has 59 beds which focuses on long-term care and sub-acute rehab and our third floor is a secured dementia unit. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and sub-acute rehab residents. With 179 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer. We also have various programs for residents to participate in multiple activities. Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
