About the unit The Neonatal ICU is a Critical Care Unit within Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, caring for newborn babies born with various conditions that haven't yet been discharged to go home with their family. We take care of a variety of patients with medical conditions and co-morbidities. We specialize in the acute care of the elderly. In addition to being a Magnet hospital, our staff are NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for HealthSystem Elders) trained. Additional specialty training is provided to our staff in the care of geriatric patients.
