CNA 1 starts at $22.40 per hour CNA 2 starts at $26.28 per hour Job Summary: CNA 1: Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents in accordance with the patient’s and/or resident’s assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed. CNA 2: Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed. Incumbents have the ability to train CNA 1 positions as well as perform the full scope of duties for a CNA 1 or 2 at BRH. Journey skills include, but are not limited to: Completing non-invasive collection and testing of physical specimens (gastroccult, hemoccult, urine dip sticks), glucose testing and reporting, suctioning the oral pharynx, removal of internal or external urinary catheters, peri-care, bladder scans, electrode placements for electrocardiograms, cardiac monitoring, telemetry, Incentive Spirometer use, etc. The CNA 1 or 2 needs to be proficient in speaking English in order to accurately and effectively communicate with patients and/or residents. Patients include those from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic standing, education, etc. Depending on the unit in which they are working, they may be required to learn specific skills necessary to provide the best care to patients and/or residents. Minimum Qualifications for the Job: CNA 1: Experience: No prior experience required. CNA 1’s are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA 2 level within 6 months. License(s): Current State of Alaska Certified Nurse Assistant License. Certification(s): Refer to Mandatory Education Policy upon hire. Alaska Food Workers Card (Wildflower Court Only) CNA 2: Experience: Master entry level CNA 1 skills and duties and complete initial advanced skills training checklist within 6 months of hire. Description This is a 36 hours per week rotating position; working 12 hour Day and Night shift (7:00am - 7:30pm & 7:00pm - 7:30 am) with weekend and holiday rotation.
