Risk Manager (RM): Responsible for implementation of the internal risk management program. Develops, implements, and evaluates risk --- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to risk management (i.e., investigate reports and events in accordance with policy and statutory requirements). Patient Safety Officer (PSO): The Patient Safety Officer will have primary oversight of the organization-wide patient safety program. This role will direct others within the organization towards process improvements that will support the reduction of medical/healthcare errors and other factors that may contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards, i.e., DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF, etc. Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulatory standards, and monitors advancements in technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance. Assists with accreditation and quality support, to include, but not limited to chart audits, clinical reviews, data support. Communicates professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization; serves as a resource, mentor, and role model for others. Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervisory responsibilities are required. Additional Details: Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required. Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date. Agency staff must have an active Alaska license. ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC instructor certification preferred OR must be obtained within 1 year after hire. PALS and NRP must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained biannually thereafter. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of supervisory experience required. Knowledge of Professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, diagnosis, processes, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population. Specialized knowledge in the nursing management and care of adult and geriatric patient problems and conditions is required. As well as Hospital and Consortium Policies and Procedures to fully comply with and instruct others on proper application of these measures.
