Will provide oversight, expertise, and leadership efforts that support nurses by optimizing the work environment to address professional drivers of burnout. Through enhanced workplace efficiency and integration of well-being into organizational culture, the director’s work will positively contribute to nurse recruitment, engagement, and professional fulfillment while promoting safe, quality, and efficient clinical care.
This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly; Monday through Friday. Most shifts will be 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. but some shifts will vary between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. based on business need.
A Pennsylvania RN License is required, plus a Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) is required.
A minimum of 3 years managing people, processes and projects and 5 years RN/clinical experience is required. Well-being or wellness experience is strongly preferred.

Job Duties:
- Apply strategic approach to developing and maintaining employee well-being as an organizational priority, with specific focus on the nursing population, and ensure alignment with enterprise strategic plan for well-being.
- Spearheads organization’s nurse well-being efforts
- Apply change management and systems thinking skills to improve existing patterns and practices to promote health care professional well-being at all levels of the training process.
- Disseminate and champion enterprise well-being work broadly among nursing population to encourage utilization and peer support participation.
- Work collaboratively with academic and health system leaders to develop an interprofessional team-based organizational culture.
- Work closely with leadership and the division of nursing education to oversee the application, maintenance, and culture that supports the ANCC Well-being Excellence Designation
- Responsible for oversight of workplace innovation and optimization related to nursing professional practice that minimizes professional drivers of burnout while ensuring quality, safety, professionalism, and cost effectiveness are maintained.
- Oversee data analysis related to well-being, safety, and quality metrics. Use data to identify areas for improvement, set goals and monitor progress, using quantitative and qualitative research methods as appropriate.
- Cultivate nurse well-being including creating an efficient practice environment, promoting personal resilience, and developing an organizational culture that fosters engagement and professional fulfillment
- Works on strategy to support well-being strategic plan to build and sustain a nurse well-being program.
- Conduct and disseminate scholarship related to institutional well-being initiatives and programs for regional and national audiences.
