Job Overview The Certified Medical Assistant functions in a role accountable for providing comprehensive, family-centered care to patients and families in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department. Shriners Spokane is looking for a PRN Certified Medical Assistant to join the team. Schedule: PRN The pay range for this position is $16.92-$25.38/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. Responsibilities Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes. Demonstrates skills necessary to assist with casting, splinting, and dressing application, removal and cleaning. Safely removes casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin care. Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. Job Overview The registered professional nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Shriners Children's Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching, and may participate on committees or projects. Shrines Spokane is looking for a part time RN to join the team.
