Associate's degree, preferred One (1) year service experience treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. One (1) year medication administration experience required. Current CPR certification. First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross. How you will make a difference : The LVN / LPT is responsible for providing direct client care, including medication administration and supervising the nursing activities of unit staff. Key duties include ordering, preparing, and documenting medications according to physician orders and confirming pharmacy deliveries. The role also requires communicating important information to the team, writing weekly client summaries as assigned, and maintaining accurate nursing documentation throughout the shift. This position also performs other related duties as needed. Division/Program Overview: The Valley Star Crisis Walk‑In Center is a voluntary, 24/7 program in an unlocked setting where people can stay for up to 23 hours. It provides rapid mental‑health assessments and crisis intervention for children, teens, adults, and older adults who need immediate support. The crisis stabilization unit helps individuals regain stability and safely move to the next level of care or return to the community. CORE Duties for PA: • Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated). • Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment. • Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members. • Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling. • Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved medications and immunizations. • Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem, including referral to a physician. • Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice. • Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services. • Teach patients and family member's healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness. • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement. The duties for the HCW are as follows but not limited to:• The HCW shall provide services within the scope of their competencies and the applicable duties provided in the basic contract. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Education: Master in Nursing for NP; from accredited program (ACEN or CCNE), or Bachelors in Physician Assistant Studies for PA; from accredited program (ARC-PA). * Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a family practice or other primary care setting, within the past 3 years * License: Active, unrestricted license as an NP or PA in any state * Board Certification: ANCC or AANP for Nurse Practitioner; NCCPA for Physician Assistant * Life Support Certifications: BLS is required * Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
