Provide essential healthcare support as a dedicated 1:1 Registered Nurse serving a medically fragile student within a school setting in Andover, MN. This contracted role requires specialized nursing skills to manage complex medical needs and deliver compassionate, attentive care during standard school hours, approximately 38 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive tracheostomy care, including routine management of trach, ventilator, and nasogastric feeding devices.
- Administering continuous G-J tube feedings and managing ostomy care as needed.
- Monitoring and responding to respiratory issues, including nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy.
- Recognizing and acting promptly during seizure episodes with nasally administered medication.
- Managing adrenal insufficiency and other critical care needs in collaboration with healthcare providers and school staff.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of medical interventions and student health status.
Qualifications and experience:
- Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Proven experience with tracheostomy care and respiratory support.
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred to effectively manage the nuances of school-aged childrens healthcare.
