Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant II performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. With appropriate education and training, may perform other duties as assigned (such as: EKGs, Phlebotomy, venipuncture, assisting in admission, transport, and discharge of patient). Monitors the patient for signs of escalating behaviors. Alerts nurse if the patient exhibits risk of harming himself/herself or others. Maintains level of observation according to the patient's plan of care and as ordered within medical record. Communicate effectively with the patient's care team including receiving report and providing meaningful handoff. Documents accurately on established workflows within the medical record. Provides hazard surveillance and reduces risk within the patient's physical environment. Engages patient appropriately in distraction activities as needed.
