We also feature eight medical -surgical pediatric beds to help us fulfill our level 1 trauma center certification. This unit sees a variety of neurologic diagnoses as well as patients needing post intensive care after thrombectomies and stent placements. Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care, all in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
