Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests; assists physician with exams; explains treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patient. Observes patients and reports any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel. Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions. Collects phlebotomy and other lab specimens; performs basic waived lab tests. Prepares and administers medications; changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures; uses CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision. Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments; practices OSHA safety standards; performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times. Processes patient phone messages, returning calls and routing them to other team members as appropriate; calls patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician. Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy. Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology; and follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct; authorized individuals will use the ChenMed Rx system to support physician medication dispensing. Provides health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices. Follows up with coached patients via weekly calls. Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion. Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON) Job Type: Full-time Salary: Negotiable Job Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient nursing services across the facility. This leadership role involves direct supervision, strategic planning, staff development, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and facility policies. Key Responsibilities Plans, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations. Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation. Participate in all admission decisions. Participates in daily or weekly management team meetings to discuss census changes, resident changes in status, complaints or concerns. Evaluates work performance of all nursing personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies. Participate in QAPI or facility assessment activities as needed, such as carrying out duties assigned as part of a performance improvement committee. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university. Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or other related health care facilities. Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state. Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care. Current CPR certification.
