Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and supporting the nursing team in maintaining residents' health and well-being. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for caregiving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care Assistance:
  • Assist residents with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Support residents with eating, hydration, and nutritional needs.
  • Help residents maintain personal hygiene and overall comfort.
  • Health Monitoring:
  • Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to the nursing team.
  • Assist with medication reminders and basic healthcare tasks under the supervision of licensed staff.
  • Resident Engagement:
  • Foster meaningful relationships with residents through companionship and supportive care.
  • Encourage participation in activities and programs to promote social interaction and mental well-being.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
  • Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic knowledge of nursing care procedures and safety practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and physical support as needed.

Certifications & Requirements:

  • Active CNA certification in good standing with the state.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
