Registered Nurse (RN) - Full Time Dayshift

Hours: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

 

Pay: Up to $52.00 per hour (based on experience)

$3.50 shift differentials for nights and $3.00 weekens

Responsibilities

  • Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit
  • Initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment
  • Timely and accurate documentation using appropriate systems
  • Interpret assessment/diagnostic data including labs and telemetry
  • Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately
  • Competence in Rapid Response and code events
  • Instruct and counsel patients/families
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • BLS is required at hire.
  • ACLS is required within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Plan of Care: Evaluate the treatment and medical condition of the patient according to the plan of care. Individualize the plan of care and make adjustments as needs change. Minimize Patient Risk: Update all doctor orders in patient chart and administer medication as prescribed by the physician. Continuity of Care: Manage multi-disciplinary care as applicable while promoting continuity of care with appropriate admissions, transfers, and discharges. Family Educator/Advocate: Counsel patient and family on the disease/progression and incorporate patient and family in development of plan of care. Listen to patient and family members. Policies: Completes all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines. Operations: Oversee and supervise total care of patient provided by nurse aides and LPNs. Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings. HARD & SOFT SKILLS: Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude. Patience is a virtue when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers. Attention to detail is critical, as is being observant and following directions. REQUIREMENTS: Registered Nurse with current license in the state of employment. Minimum one-year experience as an RN in an acute care setting is preferred. Hospice experience is desired.
