WORK SCHEDULE
Fully onsite, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Answer incoming calls and manage patient inquiries efficiently.
Room patients and assist with patient check-out processes.
Work with in-basket tasks, including managing faxes and handling
financial assistance paperwork.
Process prior authorizations for medications and treatments.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic
operations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction.
Utilize Epic software for patient management and documentation.
Administer biologic medications and provide patient education on
rheumatology treatments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with Epic software.
Experience with biologic medications.
Rheumatology background.
Strong customer service skills.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Job Summary:

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures the well-being of patients.
  • Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.
  • May documents the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as discharge/follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. 
  • May transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications. Completes patient's charts by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. Continuously checks the progress of data availability for orders, to ensure the patient's workup is complete so that the provider is able to make treatment decisions regarding that patient.
  • May transcribes consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the on-call physician.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
