Job Summary and Qualifications

A Certified Cardiac Surgical Tech, performs the scrub role as a member of the Perioperative team. Assists the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure. Functions as a member of a specialty team. Ability to work cooperatively with the surgical team. As a technician II, demonstrates competency in the practice advanced level case assignment and advanced level equipment. Acts as a resource person for others in the department and actively participates in the preceptor role in the training of new personnel. Helps coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty. Qualifications

  • Graduate from high school or equivalent program required
  • Completion of Surgical Technologist course required
  • Surgical Technologist certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist, in an acute care facility preferred
  • Current BCLS certification required
