Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Johnston-Willis Hospital’s Pre Admission Testing Unit, you will be a part of a dynamic team that is focused on fostering educational opportunities, specialty certifications and clinical ladder. You will be responsible for the clinical management of our patients pre-surgery or procedure, where you will interview the patient, take vitals and draw labs as well as any additional orders by the surgeon.
What you will do in this role:
- You will participate in a teamwork environment where you will be responsible for helping everyone in the department.
- As a member of this team you will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Our nurses are responsible for preparing the patients for surgery as well as any orders by the surgeon.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions
- 2 years of Hospital experience required
- Experience in Critical Care or ED, Same Day Surgery or Pre Admission Testing experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
