Summary : The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Unity and UMMC provides expert clinical care for critically ill patients. The NP will work in collaboration with ICU physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nursing staff, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive care. This role focuses on patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of interventions, along with continuous monitoring of patient progress in a high-acuity environment. This provider will join a team of both physicians and APPs that provides 24/7 care to critically ill medical patients at the Rush main campus. APPs will work autonomously and in collaboration with Rush pulmonary/critical care attending physicians and fellows and will be required to perform a number of procedures including central line placements, paracentesis and temporary hemodialysis catheter placements, among other duties.
