External Job Description

Provides various personal caregiving services in accordance with an established plan of care
Provides for the personal needs and comfort of people in their own homes
Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
Prepares meals and special diets
Performs general housekeeping activities
Administers medications to clients that has been specifically trained and delegated by a Delegating Nurse and has completed a Nurse Delegation Core and / or Nurse Delegation Diabetes course with certificate(s) along with current license, proof of FCG or BT
Passive Range of Motion – requires current credential, proof of FCG or BT, proof of completing annual CE requirement
Vital Signs – all caregivers are able offer limited assistance to take vital signs for informational purposes only. We do not record vital sign readings
Provides transportation assistance to and from activities
Provides compassionate companionship to patients
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

HS/GED preferred
Caregiver License required HCA/CNA (Renewed annually)
Ability to comply with BCCU background requirements
Ability to communicate both verbal and written
Capable of working responsibly with confidential information

Responsibilities: • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks, including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, serving, and assisting with meals, feeding, housekeeping, bed making, and laundry. • Provide emotional and behavioral support to residents, promoting a positive and uplifting environment. • Support resident activity participation by assisting residents to/from activities, encouraging participation, and leading activities when asked. • Collaborate with staff from all departments to ensure quality of care for residents. • Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents. • Observe residents for safety and report changes in resident condition effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner to the Licensed Nurse (LN) on duty. • Answer resident pendant/pull cords immediately. • Perform all other duties as assigned.
