Logan Health’s Oncology Program is looking for an RN Specialty Navigator to support patients throughout their cancer journey!

This is a highly patient-centered, relationship-driven role focused on education, coordination, and compassionate guidance across the cancer care continuum.

As an RN Specialty Navigator, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients and caregivers following a new cancer diagnosis. You will help reduce uncertainty, remove barriers to care, and ensure patients feel informed, supported, and never alone as they move through treatment and testing.

As our RN Specialty Navigator, you’ll become a trusted partner in each patient’s cancer journey. Here is some of what you'll be doing:

  • Provide individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help them overcome barriers within the healthcare system

  • Conduct patient intakes and needs assessments for new oncology patients

  • Deliver patient education in person, by phone, and in the future via telehealth

  • Coordinate essential aspects of care, including appointments, testing, scans, and follow‑up needs

  • Serve as a key touchpoint during new diagnoses, provider visits, or hospital encounters

  • Track and follow up with patients to ensure continuity of care, identifying missed appointments or additional needs

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members such as providers, social workers, and scheduling staff

  • Utilize motivational interviewing to support patients in achieving goals and managing their health

  • Assist with interdisciplinary team meetings and facilitate timely follow‑through on recommendations

  • Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives to drive best practices

Who you are:

  • A Registered Nurse with oncology or oncology-related experience

  • Ambulatory care experience is a plus, but not required

  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball

Qualifications:

  • Current Montana RN License or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years’ experience.

    • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a related area.

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ recent specialty experience in a minimum of one (1) of the identified specialty areas required:

    • Oncology or Oncology related area

  • Oncology Certification preferred or willing to obtain

  • Knowledge of professional practice standards and regulatory requirements as related to specialty care area required.

  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records required.

  • Must function with a high degree of autonomy, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Possess the ability to develop and implement community education, outreach programs/workshops and seminars as defined for assigned specialty area required.

  • Possess ability to comprehensively assess patient’s psychosocial status and demonstrate an understanding of the physiological disease practice as defined for assigned specialty area(s) required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Primary Care teams and/or multidisciplinary care teams required.

Shift:

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (shifts are generally 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., but could vary slightly at times based on patient and program needs).

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
