JOB LOCATION : Langdale Place
DEPARTMENT: AR - LANGDALE PERSONAL CARE
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8HR Evening Shift, 3p to 11p
POSITION SUMMARY
Administers nursing care in a personal care home environment under the supervision of a registered nurse. Oversees and supervises the job activities of the Personal Care Attendants, Charge Aids, and the Personal Care Coordinator when Nurse Care Manager is not on site. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements are met in addition to facility policies and procedures. Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of the residents. Requires a high school diploma and certification as a licensed practical nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Reports to nurse care manager.
EDUCATION
- Current LPN license in the State of Georgia.
- Current CPR & First Aid certification required.
- 16 hours annual In-Service Training required by the Department of Community Health
- Three (3) years of experience in an assisted living facility setting preferred.
- Ability to work well individually and as a team member.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient/family units.
- Ability to read and interpret policies and standards.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, intervention, documentation, and evaluation.
- Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for an elderly population of patients/family units of all ages, a variety of cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behaviors.
- Ability to operate clinical equipment, computer and telecommunications devices.
Works primarily in long-term care setting, including office and classroom work areas. Primarily daytime hours with flexibility required to meet educational and resident care needs. Considerable walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (occasionally in excess of fifty (50) pounds). Mental effort required to assess, plan, and make or recommend decisions in complex environment. Likely to be exposed to blood/body fluids, including infectious diseases.
