This full time, 0.9 FTE Night shift position is an exceptional opportunity for new graduate nurses to join a program designed to foster technical expertise, compassionate care and professional growth.
Our 12-month transition-to-practice program offers interactive, evidence-based curriculum that builds clinical skills, leadership and confidence in the professional nurse role. The program reflects the Mission, Vision and Values of PeaceHealth ensuring excellence in patient outcomes and community care.

- Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Neurology, Cardiology, ICU step down.

- Recent RN graduate (within 12 month) or a RN licensed less than 12 months with less than 6 months of Acute Care experience
- Active Washington RN license by date of hire
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by date of hire.
- Able to participate in all program activities throughout the 12-month residency period
- Ability to work a minimum of 36 hours/week, variable shifts and shift lengths and rotate per union standards
- Start dates are determined by several factors including: NCLEX (one retest attempt allowed) , Licensing, relocation and department needs.

Job Summary
Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Essential Functions
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Management of ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP. Nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizures. Nursing care of patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intra-cranial stenting. Management of blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents. Completion of complex neurological assessments/scales.
- Accredited School of Nursing Required: Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year Required: or more of recent continuous critical care experience, completion of a critical care intern/ residency program, or 3 years in an acute care setting with 400 hours in a critical care unit within the previous year. Some postings may be for an internship position and the following criteria will apply to those postings: Experienced or new grad RNS. If new grad, the RN will also be required to participate in the Nurse Residency Program.
- Required: Registered Nurse and
- Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support and
- Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 6 months of hire. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire for RN's working on Tower 4
- Preferred: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required)

- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
- Basic computer skills (Required)
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
- Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
