Position Overview
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join New Horizons - Inpatient Addiction Rehabilitation Unit at Binghamton General Hospital. This 20‑bed adult behavioral health program provides medically supported care for individuals with substance use disorders in a structured, recovery‑focused environment. Nurses on this unit partner closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient‑centered care while promoting compassion and respect - core values that align with the UHS mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.
This role is ideal for experienced RNs with a background or strong interest in behavioral health or addiction medicine who are confident, ethical, and consistent in their practice. Compensation Range:
$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
Schedule
- Day - Rotational
- 7AM – 3:30PM
- 24 hours per week
- Every other weekend
Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
- Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy.
- Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
- Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.
- Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
- Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
- Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current NYS RN License
Preferred:
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
- Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.
