Admissions Registered Nurse

The Admissions Registered Nurse will be primarily responsible for completing the RN admission process for patients being admitted through the ED. This includes, but is not limited to: - Admission assessments & screenings - Medical history - Medication reconciliation - Complete full-body skin screening - Braden risk assessment - Imaging of any identified skin disruption - Initiation of pressure injury protocol, as appropriate   Additionally, this position will: - Engage in collaborative relationships with peers and other professional disciplines, apply principles of leadership and assume responsibility for professional growth and accountability. - Provide responsible and accountable nursing care based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by the American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. - Be responsible for the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process of assessing, collecting and documenting data in order to identify nursing diagnoses.

- Currently licensed as a RN in the State of Florida.
- Bachelor degree/diploma/associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
- 2-5 years of floor nurse experience including hands-on admissions workups
- Certifications as required by individual unit/area.
- Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel.
- Personal professional development, accountability, organization and leadership in the performance of professional nursing practice.
- Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with co-workers and key stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families.

- Successfully conducts day to day operations and management of Intake or admissions department.
- Provides direction in prioritizing tasks, reporting results to senior leadership.
- Coordinate staffing and scheduling personnel to meet patient needs;
- Review medical records to determine if patient meets eligibility guidelines Referrals are seen within organizational standard requirements.
- Managing all pending and cancelled referrals.
- Review and collaborate with field team leadership on discharged patients who are eligible for readmission
- Ensures referral to admission process is smooth and referrals are scheduled same day.
- Meet productivity goals and standards.
- Strategizing with staff on difficult barriers to admission of referrals of medically eligible patients.
- Schedule and assigns appropriate staff to assure ensure patient needs are met and team success 7 days per week.
- Ensures data collection to track department goals are met and successfully implement improvements as needed.
- Financial
- Adherence to department’s budget.
- Monitors human resource allocation to ensure that department is within FTE allocations and eliminate overtime.
- Maintains adequate resources for departmental operations.
- Compliance/Quality Assurance
- Departmental activities meet compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Models high ethical standards, advocating against fraud and abuse.
- Provides education to staff related to compliance with policies, procedures and standards.
- Human Resources
- Knowledgeable in implementation of system Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Interviews and hires qualified new employees.
- Ensures adequate staff orientation, supervision and ongoing education.
- Allows for staff recognition; Provides corrective actions and educational plans to maintain set standards.
