Position Summary

The Treatment Nurse (LPN or RN) delivers skilled nursing care, including wound care, medication administration, and monitoring resident conditions. This role ensures accurate documentation, compliance with protocols, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to optimize resident outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform physician-ordered treatments and wound care according to protocols

  • Monitor vital signs, weight, and clinical status of residents

  • Conduct finger-stick glucose checks and administer insulin per orders

  • Identify residents at risk for skin breakdown and implement preventive measures

  • Maintain and organize treatment carts and supplies

  • Document all treatments, interventions, and observations accurately in EMR

  • Communicate resident condition changes to nursing leadership or physicians

  • Participate in care planning, morning report, skin rounds, and QA initiatives

  • Support staff education on treatments, skin integrity, and infection prevention

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered NYS LPN or RN license

  • Experience in long-term care, wound care, or treatment nursing preferred

  • Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team

  • Basic computer skills and EMR experience

  • Ability to lift, move, and assist residents as required
