Certified Medication Technician (CMT) - Full Time Evening Shift

Job Summary:

Aspire Senior Living Excelsior Springs is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our team on a full-time basis, working evening shifts. About the Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Role:

  • Assist with the administration of medications to residents as prescribed by their physicians

  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse

  • Provide general nursing care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming

  • Observe and report any changes in a resident's condition to the nursing staff

  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans

  • Maintain accurate records and reports

Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by their physicians

  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming

  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents

  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents

Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. Also, must perform routine daily tasks required in maintaining the health, comfort and wellbeing of the residents. Medication Technician CMT - Essential Responsibilities: Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with community policy. Must demonstrate knowledge of “five rights” of medication administration. Administers and records all medication given to residents’ based upon their specific chart. May take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications. Observes and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse immediately. May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
