LPN/RN – Detox Facility (NIGHT SHIFT)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of healthcare professionals in a licensed New Jersey detox facility. The nurse will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality medical care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and in coordination with the Medical Director.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a detoxification treatment setting, as required by New Jersey state regulations, and demonstrate clinical proficiency in managing substance withdrawal protocols, medical screenings, and ongoing patient care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized nursing care and conduct medical and psychiatric screenings for all clients.
• Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of intoxication or withdrawal and report any changes promptly.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document all interventions and observations in accordance with NJ regulations and facility policies.
• Utilize assessment tools such as COWS and CIWA to guide detoxification protocols.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in the KIPU EMR system.
• Provide medication education to patients as needed.
• Supervise and give direction to Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and shift hand-offs.
• Adhere to all clinical protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and state licensure requirements.

 

Skills & Requirements:

• Valid New Jersey LPN or RN license in good standing.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a detoxification treatment facility (required).
• Strong understanding of withdrawal symptoms and medication-assisted treatment.
• Experience with KIPU EMR and use of clinical assessment tools such as COWS and CIWA.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Team-oriented, with strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

 

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Practical Nursing (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred but not required)

 

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Additional detox-related training or certification is a plus

 

Schedule:

• 12-Hour Shifts
• Night Shift
• Weekend availability required
• Flexibility to work varying days as needed
