Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN to join our team at Axiom Healthcare of Harrisburg. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to our residents and supervise the daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants, including meeting with your assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan the shift's services, programs, and activities
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required, and provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift
• Complete and file required recordkeeping forms and charts, and receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the unit and shift
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
• Current CPR Certification is required
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred
