Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled caregiver to provide exceptional, compassionate care during weekends only. The ideal candidate is dependable, clinically proficient, and comfortable caring for clients with complex medical, physical, or cognitive needs while promoting dignity, safety, and independence. This role requires a professional who can work with minimal supervision and respond confidently to changing conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Personal & Direct Care
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and mobility
Provide safe transfers, ambulation assistance, and proper body mechanics
Perform incontinence care and skin integrity monitoring
Medical & Skilled Care Support
Assist with medication reminders
Provide care for clients with conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, diabetes, CHF, COPD, or mobility impairments
Support post-surgical or rehabilitation recovery plans
Recognize and report changes in condition promptly
Safety & Supervision
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
Provide fall prevention and safety monitoring
Offer constant or close supervision as required
Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies
Emotional & Cognitive Support
Provide companionship and emotional reassurance
Use patience and redirection techniques for memory care clients
Encourage engagement in appropriate activities
Respect cultural, spiritual, and personal preferences
Communication & Documentation
Communicate effectively with family members, nurses, or care coordinators
Maintain accurate care notes and reports
Follow care plans, policies, and HIPAA guidelines
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have valid Driver License
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 6+ months of hands-on caregiving experience (private duty, home health, or facility-based)
Demonstrated experience with high-acuity or complex-care clients
Reliable and insured transportation
Punctual attendance
Strong observational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
Dementia and Alzheimer’s care training
Experience with transfers (Hoyer, gait belt, slide board)
Comfort working independently on weekends
Bilingual abilities (a plus, not required)
