JOB TITLE: Pre-Surgical Screening Nurse
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough telephone interviews with patients to collect data relevant to their health and surgical history.
- Review and document patient medications, allergies, and any other pertinent information.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons’ offices, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and primary care physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assess patients for any risks related to surgery and recommend necessary follow-up actions.
- Educate patients about pre-surgical preparations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Utah.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in surgical or pre-operative settings.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, medication management, and patient assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
