Caregiver Responsibilities:

  • Provides friendly companionship and assistance with daily activities including dressing guidance, grooming, meal preparation, medication reminders, running errands, laundry and light housekeeping
  • Personal Care including bathing, dressing, mobility, incontinence care, feeding and other services
  • Provides transportation to doctor’s appointments, beauty shops, etc.

Caregiver Requirements:

  • Companionship and/or Personal Care experience
  • A passion for the job and genuine desire to help others
  • Access to reliable transportation with a willingness to travel within Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, Palmer, and Wasilla cities/counties
  • Up-to-date car insurance in your name, registration and valid Alaska Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass background checks and work related references
  • Must pass drug testing

Ensures therapeutic recreation, expressive therapy groups, FIT groups and clinical programming is being facilitated. Remains flexible in providing a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions depending on patient needs and abilities. Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients. Performance Management & Supervision: Fosters staff development and growth of team. Provides regular coaching and feedback to employees to motivate performance. Must have a working knowledge of computers. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITON: Must be a Handle with Care Instructor. Must be able to demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to age groups, as well as job and/or program specific competency within the first three (3) months of training.
