A skilled nursing facility in Kane County is seeking an Infection Prevention Nurse to support regulatory compliance, surveillance, and infection control practices.

This role partners closely with clinical leadership to monitor infection trends, support audits, maintain required documentation, and assist with staff education. The position works within established policies and state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track infections per IDPH and CDC guidance

  • Maintain infection control logs, reports, and audit tools

  • Support survey readiness and follow-up actions

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on prevention strategies

  • Provide routine education and guidance to staff

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • RN or LPN license in Illinois

  • Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of infection control standards

  • Organized, detail-focused, and able to work independently

Ensure adequate, timely and appropriate documentation of the provision of all Restorative Nursing services Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the Restorative Nursing Program. Assist in developing methods for coordination of the Restorative Nursing Program with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the resident's total regimen of care. Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Coordinate with Therapy in the development and updating of written Restorative plans of care, as required and necessary for residents receiving Restorative Nursing services. Conduct weekly reviews of the written Restorative Nursing plans of care and documentation for residents receiving Restorative Nursing services.
