Annual Compensation: $105,851 – $158,766
What You’ll Do
- Lead systemwide caregiver and patient safety programs, including safe patient handling, workplace violence prevention, Culture of Safety, and Cause Analysis initiatives.
- Design and execute enterprise safety strategies aligned with PeaceHealth goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Serve as a trusted subject matter expert, supporting governance committees, councils, and workgroups across networks.
- Partner with leaders at all levels—including executive leadership—to influence culture change and reduce harm.
- Develop, maintain, and standardize enterprise policies, procedures, training, and safety toolkits.
- Track and analyze safety data and trends; collaborate with analytics teams to build and maintain enterprise dashboards.
- Provide education, coaching, and mentoring to regional and community-based safety leaders.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure consistent adoption and long-term sustainment of safety programs.
- Travel occasionally to PeaceHealth hospitals and clinics to support systemwide alignment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, clinical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient or healthcare employee safety
- Experience with managing complex programs and projects, specifically with a focus on quality improvement activities, and demonstrated successful completion of quality improvement projects with desired
- Experience with workplace violence prevention, and/or quality improvement
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- One of the following certifications obtained within 1 year of hire:
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS)
- Certified Professional in Human Factors in Healthcare (CPHFH)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
- Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP)
- Strong ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with clinical and executive leaders
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Proven change management and program leadership capabilities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio (preferred)
- Willingness to travel to PeaceHealth facilities as needed
- Primarily office-based with time spent in hospitals and clinical settings
- Sedentary work; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
- Frequent computer use and close visual acuity required
